Reception for A Heart for Russia Charitable Fund
Bentley Hotel, London, January 2005

London's top Russian and English business people joined the charity A Heart for Russia at the Bentley Hotel in South Kensington, all ready to give a little heart for Russia's children. The charity is working to support orphaned and abandoned children and teenagers to make safe and independent lives for themselves, despite the awful starts they've had. Working alongside the Committee for Social Care and Labour, A Heart for Russia is placing children with trained foster families. A new training programme will soon be introduced to raise awareness of the foster care system and train new families for the future. The evening was the first of many events geared to raising funds to renovate disused state buildings to create new homes for foster families. ' Only when children know and understand family values and have the love, care and advice of parents are they really ready to build futures for themselves,' explained one of the Trustees of the charity. 'The event was a great success and clearly showed that Russian and British people share the same concerns and are ready to help these children.'
